Def Leppard Returns with a Tour
The British rockers Def Leppard are back with a new album and they will be going on an extensive tour in the US. The band will be having a series of headline shows starting on March 27 and will continue through April 26; with Live Nation will be the producer of the tour events.
The band’s new album, Songs from the Sparkle Lounge, is scheduled to be released on March 17 in the UK and March 18 worldwide. The new album is expected to become another success like their previous albums.
Def Leppard had a great year in 2007, having a 50-date arena tour all over the US. The band’s summer tour sold to an audience of 15,000 to 20,000. Last year was also the 20th anniversary of the release of Def Leppard’s album ‘Hysteria.’
The band has more than a whooping 65 million albums sold all over the world. Def Leppard is actually one of five rock groups that can boast of two separate original albums that sold more than 10 million. The other four groups are The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Van Halen, and Led Zeppelin.
Def Leppard’s 2008 US tour will feature Styx and REO Speedwagon as guests.
