Billy Joel, the Music Icon for the masses across the world, came up with his new tour dates for the next couple of months. He is to perform for a number of shows in April at different places. Billy Joel has shows in Pittsburgh, Columbus, Montreal and in New Orleans, in this April. Joel is currently on his tour in California and he is with a handful of performances there. In late –May he is going to perform in Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun and his schedule includes two-night stand at the Shea-stadium in New York and a show at the Hershey Park stadium in Pennsylvania on July 10th.

In 1990 Billy Joel did a concert in Hershey Stadium as a part of his “Storm Front Tour” and it was sold out. The show in July will be his first show after 1990 in Hershey Park. Music lovers in Pennsylvania are eagerly waiting for Joel’s show in July. The new tour date announcement has given the fans a clearer picture of his schedule. Music lovers and fans can book their tickets for the Billy Joel show well in advance. So, the coming moths are really hectic for Billy Joel and his fans.

Victoria Beckham confessed that she was the reason for the sudden split of the music band “Spice Girls”. Victoria said she did so because she wanted to become a fashion designer and want to leave the music industry for good. Victoria announced that she will never again sing with the members of the band, Mel B, Mel C, Geri Halliwell, and Emma Bunton. Posh also admitted that she agreed for the reunion of “spice Girls” and the tour just to show her kids, Brooklyn and Romeo that she was a pop star but was very confused about rejoining.

The “spice Girls” had their final concert in UK at Manchester last week and their last performance ever was in Toronto on the 26th of February this year. She says, she has enjoyed her singing career but she doesn’t want to extend it. May be she is aware of the fact that she cannot ever become the world’s best singer. Victoria feels that, she has achieved every thing from the music business and now nothing is left there. Fashion industry appears to be more lucrative to her and she has already started to make lot of money from it.

A computer expert has been put behind the bars for electronically stalking the lead singer of the famous rock group band Linkin Park, Chester Bennington. Devon Townsend is the culprit who was accused of gaining personal pictures of Chester, his family and his wife Talinda’s, and also had illegal access to the personal emails as well as voice mails of the star. Devon has admitted to also having access to the legal documents of his recording contract and had used her office computer at the US national security laboratory to trace the details of the lead singer of the Linkin Park.

Ms. Townsend is also found to have made threatening calls to Chester’s wife and has also admitted travelling to Arizona in a bid to meet the star. It is revealed that her home is filled with Linkin Park’s complete memorabilia that includes bootlegged music, autographs, and photographs. Ms. Townsend is said to be taken to the prison and is expected to be given mental health treatment during her stay in the prison. Linkin Park has had a number of hits like Minutes to Midnight, Given up and Wake and has sold more than 50 million albums since they burst into the music scene in 1996.

Martina McBride had touched all the high notes to give an electrifying performance in the Nationwide Arena. The concert was a big success as she rendered the songs in her very attractive voice with the power and grace the songs deserved. She sang 19 songs and even the ordinary songs were made beautiful by her soprano voice. Specialty of McBride is that she gets into the soul of each and every song and the listener will feel that the singer is going through the happenings of each line. She got more than one minute standing ovation from the crowd, when she finished the song “Where Would You Be”.

Martina had managed to project pictures or photos to the back ground that will go hand in hand with the songs. When the rendition of the song “On In My Daughter’s Eyes” was going on, back ground showed the three daughters of McBride as well as other mothers and daughters. The video showed for the song “Concrete Angel” brought tears to the eyes of the spectators. McBride sang patriotic songs like anyway and Independence Day. She performed the songs of Loretta Lynn and Lynn Anderson. Overall, the crowd enjoyed the concert with out any limit.

The 21 year old “Mean Girls” star and singer, Lindsay Lohan, was more than pleased to shoot nude to recreate the famous Last Sitting photos of her idol Marilyn Monroe that was captured in the camera of Bert Stern, only six weeks before her death due to overdose of drugs. Lindsay Lohan said that she was comfortable during the entire sensational photo shoot and did not put any thought into the matter as she feels it is an honor to be working with Bert Stern to recreate the images of her idol Monroe. Lohan said that she was determined to get the look to match exactly like her idol and wanted to bring the images of Marilyn back to life.  Lindsay has posed for shots that has a many see through chiffon scarves and has sported a peroxide blonde wig for the shoot. She has also worn a diamond necklace for the shoot and has posed naked on the bed. The versatile singer and actress has said that she was worried of her stomach bulging and had to do 250 stomach crunches the night before the shoot in a bid to make her stomach as flat as possible. Lindsay also said that she did not have any inhibitions posing naked in front of the camera.  

Billy Joel announced about his upcoming concert at the famous Shea stadium in a press conference last week. The concert of Billy at the Shea Stadium is scheduled for 16th of July 2008. This will be the last performance by an artist at the Shea stadium and the event has been named as the “Last Play at Shea”. Billy Joel is happy to perform at Shea and feels that it is an honor for him to give the ultimate farewell to Shea as he always had a special place for Shea in his heart because his love for sports and music.

The first major concert at Shea Stadium was that of The Beatles and the last will be the “Piano Man”. Billy Joel thanked the Mets for giving him and his fans, one final chance to rock the shea. With the concert at shea Billy will become the only artist to perform in all the four major sporting Venues of New York which includes Yankee Stadium, Madison Square, Shea and Giants Stadium. All the Billy Joel fans are looking forward to the great concert at Shea. In 2009 Shea will be changed into anew stadium called Citi Field.

“The Last Play at Shea: From the Beatles to Billy” is the name given  to  the last concert that is going to take place in the Shea Stadium in New York on the 16^th of July 2008 and Billy Joel has got the privilege of being the last performer at Shea. The show will be performed in the midst of the final showing by the New York Mets at the Shea stadium. Some of the musical stalwarts and rock groups who have performed in this beautiful stadium are The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Police, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, E Street Band and Elton John.  

Billy Joel, a New Yorker, was more than pleased to be performing the last show at the Shea and once Joel completes his performance in the Shea Stadium, he will be the first artist to have performed in all  the four major sporting venues in New York; Yankees stadium, Giants stadium, Madison Square Garden and of course the Shea stadium. Joel said that the Shea stadium Shea stadium is a happening place for rock and roll artists and that he will cherish the memory of performing at the Shea for many years. The Shea stadium is to be replaced by the Citi Field from the 2009 season.

The members of the Police are on a high as their 2007-08 world tour has created a record of sorts by amazing more than $212 million till the month of December 2007. Police fans have been overfilling the arenas and stadiums where the concerts are held and the sale of more than 1.9 million tickets so far is  proof that the Police still have a lot of fan following all over the world. The world Police tour produced by TNA International and RZO Productions is still to perform in places like Tokyo, Honolulu, France, Germany, Manchester, Denmark and London.

The members of the Police decided to pursue solo careers after the Synchronicity tour in March 1984. The current 2007-08 tour is actually a reunion tour that marks the 30th anniversary of the band and was started from Vancouver on May 28th of 2007. Their performance locations for the year 2008 include countries like USA, Japan, New Zealand Australia, Singapore etc. They are expected to perform in the Isle of Wright Festival on the 15th of June 2008. The present line up of the band; Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers are very happy with the way things are happening in the current tour.

Celine Dion, the very popular and charming Canadian Pop diva is on a rampage worldwide tour to promote her latest album “Taking Chances” that released in November 2007. The year long tour covering five major continents and over 25 countries across the globe is a much anticipated tour both by her fans as well as the media. Celine Dion is slated to perfrom in over 120 concert shows and the pop diva is been rehearsing day in and day out to make the world tour a grand success.

Celine Dion’s Taking Chances world tour kicks off on 14th February 2008 in Johannesburg in South Africa and ends on 30th January 2009 in the United States. There has been lot of interest shown in the world concert and the sale out of tickets for the concerts in Durban, Cape Town, Sydney, London, Tokyo, Melbourne, Toronto etc speaks volumes of not only the fan following that she has but also the singing talent that she possess. Singer/songwriter Toby Keith goes on tour this year with a bang. After many years performing with ‘big’ names like James Stroud, Toby Keith is now on his own. He is also going under his own label, Show Dog Nashville, instead of the former Mercury label. This time, the country singer gets to do things a little more his way, in his own taste, with his own style.

Toby Keith has certainly risen into success. Looking at his history, he has jumped from one job to another, before becoming what he is now. He worked in an oil field as a derrick and got promoted to operation while doing some band gigs on the side. When the oil industry fell down in 1982, he found a place as defensive end in the Oklahoma City Drillers semi-pro team and still performed with his band from time to time. It would be two more years before he would decide to go full time in music.

And what a good decision it turned out to be! He has had success in his musical career from the 1990s to 2000s, with five of his albums getting into the number one spot of Billboard’s Top Country Albums. Sixteen of his singles placed number one in Billboard’s Hot Country Songs.

A Toby Keith show is definitely hard to miss, so watch out for his national tour this year.
