Weezer announces major tour schedule

Weezer, the hook-heavy guitar pop group, has announced a major tour of Northern U.S starting from September 23rd. The reason for this major tour is to promote their latest studio album which is self-titled. They will kick start the tour from Boston and has more than 21 dates to perform before the tour finishes in October. Many of the concerts of Weezer will have opening act   done by Airwaves, Angels and Tokyo Police Club at various venues. The ticket sale to the general public for this concert tour will start from 15th of August. Weezer fans are eagerly waiting for this concert as this is the first tour of Weezer to North America after a gap of three years.

Kenny Loggins plans 30 concerts this summer

Kenny Loggins, a versatile singer and songwriter, has decided to undertake a summer tour in order to support his last studio album “How About Now” that he released last year. The veteran performer’s concert tour picks off with a performance on May 16th at San Rafael in California and will be touring extensively in the month of July and August as most of his committed concerts are during these months. Tickets to his concert tours are currently on sale and fans who are interested in soft, country sound rocking music will surely be entertained by Kenny Loggins. He has so far received 12 platinum album awards.

Kanye West lends his support to Lil Wayne’s new album

Kanye West has offered his contribution in Lil Wayne’s album “Tha Carter III” which is under production for a long time. The album will be released under the label of Universal in May this year. Kanye West broke the news of giving appearance in three tracks of Lil’s album in a recent TV interview. Wayne is hoping that the album will do good sales as he has put a lot of effort into the album.

The artists who had featured in this album include Corey Gunz, the famous Tyga Jibbs, the “A Bay Bay” singer Hurricane Chris, Shanell, Mack Maine, Lil Mama and Kidd Kidd. Wayne, the rapper has also got the support of Alchemist as well as Cool and Dre. The first single from Wayne’s new album “Lollipop” is one of the top debuts Hot R&B / Hip -Hop songs of the week. The Lil Wayne’s album will be creating record sales due to the number of artists lending their support to this album.

“Ghosts I-IV” earns $1.6 million in the opening week

The online release of Ghosts I-IV, the new album of the well-known industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails collected $1.6 million in its first week of release. Almost 800,000 transactions occurred in the opening week, including paid and free downloads, advances for vinyl releases, CDs, boxed sets etc. The band became free agents in last October and Ghosts I-IV is their first release after this change. The sale of the album started on 2nd March on the website of the band. The album contains 36 tracks and the first nine tracks can be downloaded free of cost. The entire digital album is sold at a price of $5.

NIN is planning to release a Double CD worth $10 by second week of April this year. A deluxe edition of $70 as well as autographed version of the album is due for shipment on May 1st. The last studio release of Nine Inch Nails was “Year Zero” and it debuted on the Billboard 200 at No. 2 position in 2007 April by selling 187,000 copies. This time the band has decided not to reveal the sales statistics to the Sound Scan who provides the data for compilation of the album charts to Billboard 200.

Willie Nelson tour extends to fall

Willie Nelson has made an addition of about more than 30 US dates to his tour itinerary. This legendary singer has about six shows in Texas, his native place, this month and many performances in Virginia and North Carolina. He will tour Europe in April and May and will re-start his U.S tour with a show in Manchester on June 13th that will kick start a tour across the country. His tour is expected to stretch into September with his schedules in California. Willie Nelson is a Grammy Award winner and is producing albums even at the age of 75 years.

Nelson’s most recent album is “Moment of Forever” released this January. This album is produced by Kenny Chesney and features some original songs of Nelson and a couple of tracks penned by Chesney along with interpretation of the songs by various well known musicians and song writers. Last October, he released an album “It’s Magic” in collaboration with Don Cherry, the singer and professional golfer. In 2007, Willie Nelson was bestowed with the BMI Icon Honor at the Annual Country Award ceremony of the Performing-Rights organization. Nelson is a good example to many singers as his passion for singing keeps him going even at this age.

Kid Rock at stadium

Kid Rock’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Revival Tour kicks off its 2008 leg Friday in Evansville, bringing with him Rev Run and Per Wolf.Kid Rock is back on the road after 22 million records sold in the United States and a three-year hiatus. He’s promoting his latest CD, “Rock N Roll Jesus.” Late last year, Kid Rock joined Robin Williams, Lewis Black, Lance Armstrong and others on a visit to support U.S. troops stationed overseas.Tickets for the 8 p.m. show at Roberts Stadium are $46.50, $41 and $34. Tickets can be purchased at Roberts Stadium (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 10 a.m.).

French DJ David Guetta  will perform in Bahrain during F1 festivities.The French DJ was awarded a Grammy for his mix of Deep Dish’s Flashdance, invited to remix David Bowie’s Heroes and saw his first two albums. Plus his album “Just A Little More Love and Guetta Blaster” became double gold in Europe. David Guetta will perform on April 4, Sean Paul on April 5 and an official after concert Formula One party will be held on April 6.Shows will be held from 9.30pm
