Artists Want Profit From Resold Concert Ticket

Robbie Williams, Radiohead, and Arctic Monkeys joined calls Tuesday for a levy to be added to concert tickets resold on the web in order to allow musicians to claw back some of the profits that are made by touts and fans. The acts’ managers said the move was vital to bring some regulation and rigor to the ticket market, which they described as “the wild west”. It was proposed to establish a Resale Rights Society, which would collect a fee from each concert ticket sold on eBay and other websites.

6 Days On Statue To Win Concert Tickets

The 35-year old Jody Powell hung on to a 3.5-metre statue of “Hannah Montana” for 6 days to win concert tickets to a sold-out show by Miley Cyrus. The concert of the star of the Disney Channel Television show will be held next week in Tampa. 20 contestants started on November 8, placing a hand on the 180-kilogram statue in the parking lot of radio station WFLZ-FM, which is the contest’s sponsor. The participants were allowed twelve-minute breaks every 3 hours and got catered meals.

Rave Motion Pictures will sell tickets beginning today for an engagement of Disney’s 3D film entitled “Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert.” The unique 3D film captures the excitement of the nationwide sold-out concert tour that features Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers. Mitch Amundsen is the film photography director (known for the hit movie “Transformers”) used 7 3D digital cameras to highlight the action from 3 shows in 2 cities

Barry Bonds Indictment: New Pressure To Mitchell Investigation

Barry BondsFor the better part of 4 years, Bonds has been visible but untouchable. With the federal indictment of Barry Bonds on Thursday, this mystery element of the steroid story is over. Barry has not been convicted of a crime, but his legacy, that is already damaged, is virtually unrecoverable. Outside of San Francisco, Bond lost the public long ago. Inside the League, the highest-level executives have long believed any form of steroid-era closure couldn’t exist while Barry Bonds still was in uniform. He most likely won’t play baseball again.

Leclaire recorded his 5th shutout of the year and the 6th of his career Sunday evening to help the Blue Jackets beat the Blues, 3-0. The only goal that Pascal Leclaire needed came on Malhotra’s 2nd score of the season at 15:41 of the 1st period. Leclaire stopped 21 shots, as Columbus won for the 5th time in their last 6 matches. The team has won four straight against the Blues. In man-advantage situations, both the Blues and the Blue Jackets went 0-for-4.
