Bury the hatchet, they say. And that is exactly what the four founding members of Jane’s Addiction will be doing in order to prepare for the reunion that fans have been waiting for all this while. The alternative rock band’s main goal in doing so? To accept a much deserved career achievement award!
The pioneering band is set to rock the music scene for the first time in 17 years and together, they will attend the NME Awards in Los Angeles this coming Wednesday. Ever since Jane’s Addiction disbanded in the year 1991, things have not been the same for both the members and their fans. Eric Avery, who is the band’s talented bass player, has refused to play with them, much less appear together in public. Previously the band members, sans Avery, have found time to come together and perform. But now that they are to receive the “Godlike Genius Award” for their extensive contribution towards the development of alternative rock, Avery will appear with fellow members, singer Perry Farrell, drummer Stephen Perkins and guitarist Dave Navarro to collect the award.
