The Swell Season Take ‘Strict Joy’ on Tour

Born out of their Grammy Award-winning performance together in the movie Once, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova formed the group The Swell Season. Their second album “Strict Joy” was released to critical acclaim in October of last year and the duo plans to tour the United States this summer with their band. Hansard and Irglova’s voices complement each other perfectly. Irglova’s delicate, beautiful voice blends with Hansard’s intense, emotional vocals. The Swell Season will play a number festivals and shows in Canada and the United States in July and August. They’re currently finishing the month of May with three shows in Atlanta, Louisville, and Cleveland. Check out the couple’s performance of  “I Have Loved You Wrong” in Baltimore, MD at Meyerhoff Symphony Hall to get an idea of the power behind The Swell Season.

Ringo Strikes Gold Again

Though he’s nearing the ripe age of 70, Ringo Starr is still making great music. Ringo’s 15th studio album, Y Not, is being called by some his best since 1973’s Ringo. The former Beatles drummer will be on tour this summer with his All Star Band for their 11th headlining tour. You should act fast if you want to get Ringo Starr tickets as it isn’t every day you get to see such a historic artist live. Starr had help from friends like Paul McCartney, Joss Stone, and Joe Walsh on Y Not, making an album. One of the highlights include the serene track “Peace Dream” where Starr writes about John Lennon’s hopes and dreams in a beautiful ballad. Y Not is a straightforward Ringo rock ‘n roll album that won’t disappoint.
