League Planning to Talk to Guillen

Jose Guillen is expected to be interviewed by the commissioner’s office about his purchase of $19,000 worth of performance-enhancing drugs over a 3-year period. The player’s orders included a $2,083 shipment, which was sent to the Coliseum in September 2003. His orders were placed between June 2002 and May 2005. MLB banned steroids in 2003. Jose Guillen played for the A’s in 2003 and has spent eleven years in the big leagues.

Blue Jackets 3, Blues 0

Leclaire recorded his 5th shutout of the year and the 6th of his career Sunday evening to help the Blue Jackets beat the Blues, 3-0. The only goal that Pascal Leclaire needed came on Malhotra’s 2nd score of the season at 15:41 of the 1st period. Leclaire stopped 21 shots, as Columbus won for the 5th time in their last 6 matches. The team has won four straight against the Blues. In man-advantage situations, both the Blues and the Blue Jackets went 0-for-4.

Orlando Keeps Washington Winless

Turkoglu scored thirteen of his twenty-five points in the 4th quarter to help Magic beat host the Wizards 94-82, sending Washington to their first 0-3 start since 1992. The Wizards led 67-64 entering the 4th quarter but shot 5-for-25 the rest of the way. Arenas made his 1st 3 shots, then went 2-for-12 the rest of the way to end up with ten points for Washington. He finished 0-for-4 on 3-pointers, part of a 6-for-23 effort by the Wizards on threes.

Red Sox Are Going To Raise Ticket Prices?

If the Red Sox decide to take advantage of their World Series victory, the tickets may bump up in price, like it happened three years ago. At the moment, the cost of an average seat at Fenway Park runs almost $50 for a regular season game, which is the highest in the league. There is no actually any official word of a ticket price increase, but following the 2004 World Series title, the team’s 1st in 86 years, ownership increased ticket prices about 7%, according to published reports.
