Tickets for Garth Brooks’s LA benefit concert in January for victims of the recent wildfires in California will go on sale on December 1 at 9 am. Garth Brooks was approached by civic leaders and California state elected officials from the areas that were affected by recent wildfires. The concert will be held on January 26, 2008 at the Staples Center in LA, California. Show tickets for all seats are $38.60 (plus $5.00 handling charge and 1.40 city amusement tax). There’s going to be a limit of 6 concert tickets per person.

Ski Austin wasn’t surprised when he answered the phone last summer and heard Jerry Colangelo’s voice. The NBA’s executive vice president for events and attractions group Ski Austin, knew what Colangelo wanted. It had been eleven years since Phoenix last hosted the NBA All-Star Game. Jerry Colangelo felt that was too long, so he told Ski Austin to just go ahead and book Phoenix for the 2009 event. More than a year after that call, Phoenix was officially awarded the 58th All-Star Game.

Turkoglu scored thirteen of his twenty-five points in the 4th quarter to help Magic beat host the Wizards 94-82, sending Washington to their first 0-3 start since 1992. The Wizards led 67-64 entering the 4th quarter but shot 5-for-25 the rest of the way. Arenas made his 1st 3 shots, then went 2-for-12 the rest of the way to end up with ten points for Washington. He finished 0-for-4 on 3-pointers, part of a 6-for-23 effort by the Wizards on threes.
